13/11/2010 - Day 126
We went to Nottingham Contemporarys 1st Birthday celebration. Alfie had loads of fun. Alfie had a dragon painted on his face. We then had our photo taken in the giant photo booth. After that Alf helped decorate a big teddy. He wrote down a wish that was hung in the teddy. The Zebras came to visit, and then it was time for an ice cream soda float.
11/11/2010 -Day 124
Mamma's got a squeezebox.....well actually Rich has, and I don't keep him up all night as I'm still trying to work out how to use it

05/11/2010 - Day 118
Remember, remember............actually, what are we remembering? Is it just me that thinks Bonfire night has been brushed aside for Halloween now? I have to admit we are guilty. When I was young, I had never heard of 'trick or treat'. It was a damp night, with a bonfire, and a few fireworks that never quite lived up to expectations! But now we carve our pumpkins and get ready for the steady stream of children coming to our home, dressed in various costumes, all in the hope of receiving a treat. And bonfire night? Alfie had to resort to sitting on his stool, by our back door, watching the pretty colours of fireworks going off somewhere in the neighbourhood.........
04/11/2010 - Day 117
Today we said our goodbyes to Grandad. It was a beautiful service, very personal, incoporating songs that reminded us of him. I read a reading written by my brother Phil, and my Sister Elizabeth read a beautiful poem. And yet life goes on, as this photo shows. We said goodbye to the eldest member of our family, but here is our youngest member, who also happens to be Grandads namesake - Farran George. Grandad loved children, and would have enjoyed our gathering, three generations of his children all in the same room. Grandads memory will live on in each of us.

03/11/2010 - Day 116
Roses. They always remind me of my Grandad. As a little girl I would spend hours in his garden with him while he pruned and tidied his roses. So it seemed only fitting to choose roses for his funeral, which will take place tomorrow. My friend Lisa has made a beautiful arrangement, shown here.
02/11/2010 - Day 115
Our lawn is under this lot somewhere. Would you believe that the only tree we have in our garden is a Weeping Willow, and that hasn't started to drop its leaves yet....

30/10/2010 - Day 112
I picked up my camera for the first time in two weeks today. Normally you can't keep it out of my hands, but it just hasn't felt right since the time I received the call to say my Grandad had been rushed into hospital. The only feeling I have at the moment is overwhelming sadness at my loss of a man that played such a huge part in my life, but I'm hoping, in time, that will fade, and my passion for life and photography will both return.

14/10/2010 - Day 109
This was taken the split second before Alfie strangled Jack, therefore Jack pushed Alfie off, Alfie cries and ends it by having a temper, leading to him having an early night.......and you thought it was a photo of happy families didn't you......?!?!

This is a selection of images for my first college assignment, due in next Tuesday. Images printed, now for all the writing!

10/10/2010 - Day 105
This is the final load. I've done 12 loads this weekend. Time for the teenagers to start pulling their weight me thinks!
08/10/2010 - Day 103
The desk has arrived. No more working at the kitchen table for Rich or me.....unless we both need to be working at the same time of course!
07/10/2010 - Day 102
A rare day at the moment, when I get to collect the Alfster from school, and we get time to do something together. So we took a walk to the park, and stopped in at the cake shop!

03/10/2010 - Day 98
Not the most attractive of highlights for Mr B. Dulux Brilliant White looks far better on our woodwork than in his hair!
02/10/2010 - Day 97
We went to Newcastle so that Daisy could look round the University. While Daisy and Rich listened to the talk about Psychology, I took Alfie to the park. We found this toadstool, but alas, no fairies or gnomes - just a rat running around in the grass! I wasn't as keen on the park after that!

01/10/10 - Day 96
Another Friday, another photoshoot! I dragged poor Sabrina out in the cold and rain, plonked her under some arches, and got her to play her guitar. She did exactly as I asked, and in good grace! Note to self, must find her a more glamorous setting next time! Here is one of the digital images I took, once I had finished up the film.

29/09/2010 - Day 94
I had great fun taking this in the Studio! As part of my Computers in Art project, I have to produce a piece of pop art. I am going to use this dalek, and a picture of The Alfster, put them together, put some Photoshop magic over it, then hopefully print it out on a t shirt for Alf! Fingers crossed!
28/09/2010 - Day 93
A dull picture on a dull day! I'm not even sure what made me take this. It was one of only 3 digital pictures I took today. I'm a film girl nowadays!
27/09/2010 - Day 92
This is the first of my prints from my film photo shoot Friday. I managed to rip the film in two, so was only able to develop 3/4 of the film. Luckily there were a few decent pictures amonugst the ones that were left! They say you learn through the mistakes you make, so hopefully I'll learn to be more careful next time!

23/09/2010 - Day 88
Alfie received a 'missed play' letter home today. I think his letter of apology explains all. For those who can not read 7 year old handwriting, here is a translation........"Dear Miss Byrne. I am sorry that I threw tissue on the ceiling of the boys toilets. From Alfie."

21/09/2010 - Day 86
The one and only photo I took with my digital camera today, and the deer went and put his head down. All I'm left with is a picture of a deers backside. Exactly the reason I have no desire to be a wildlife photographer! I hope the photos I took on film are somewhat more successful!

18/09/2010 - Day 83
I looked at the forecast on Friday night, and it promised a grey cloudy day on Saturday. Saturday morning I was woken by sun streaming through the curtains - time for my camera to have a little outing! I didn't go far. Just a little stroll around Trent Bridge and along the Embankment.
17/09/2010 - Day 82
I took Daisy to Loughborough Uni today. It was their open day, and Daisy wanted to see if it was somewhere she would like to apply to. We didn't feel the love, not after Sheffield and Birmingham so it was a pretty quick trip round, listen to the talk, and back to Nottingham again. While we were waiting at Loughborough station I took this snap.....
16/09/2010 - Day 81
I thought I would be a good Mum. I collected the Alfster from school (the first time since he went back after the summer), and suggested that we go to the park to collect conkers. There are several big conker trees in West Bridgford park, so I thought that would get me lots of extra Mummy points. Looks like the conker trees in the park are the only ones this year to not be producing. Doh! That cost me two bags of crazy bones!
15/09/2010 - Day 80
It was all planned. I had my bags all packed, all I had to do was get up when the alarm went off at 6.45, and go for a swim. Rich was going to do the homely duties and get the Alfster to school. I was going to have a relaxing breakfast after my swim before heading into college. Unfortunately someone forgot to let the alarm in on our plans. It was 7.45 when we looked at the clock. So no swim, or relaxing breakfast. Just a mad rush to get us all out of the house on time!
